Job summary

Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide support under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Responsibilities include preparing medications, stocking inventory, recording entries, and assisting with billing while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, TN Board registration within 90 days, CPhT certification, and at least 12 months of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Registration with the TN Board of Pharmacy required within 90 days of employment.
• State Board approved Technician Certification for CPhT status required.
• Minimum 12 months of previous pharmacy experience; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, assist with dispensing medications and maintaining records.
• Prepackages and labels medications; ensure accurate unit-dose preparation.
• Perform double or triple checks prior to dispensing.
• Maintain regulatory logs and accurate billing records.
• Restock medication areas and communicate supply needs to Pharmacy Purchasing.
• Promote a professional, courteous environment and support hospital pharmacy goals.
