Under the direction of the Inpatient Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the activities of the inpatient pharmacy technician and service clerk staff, narcotic tracking and accountability, new hire orientation and training, facilitation of cross‑training and development of current and future technician staff, oversight of outdate sections in the central pharmacy, unit inspections, and technician scheduling.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clean, well lighted & temperature controlled environment. May work in chemotherapy preparation satellite, working with hazardous carcinogens, however, normal safety precautions and protective equipment are provided to minimize risk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
