Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support area-specific operations with focus on accuracy, documentation, and teamwork. You will utilize pharmacy technology, assist patients and care teams, and contribute to quality improvement efforts across sites.

Expect routine updates to procedures and ongoing education supported by leadership. Responsibilities include maintaining records, solving technical issues, and traveling between pharmacy locations as needed to ensure consistent service

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• For NC technicians with validating duties, an Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology is required.
• Typically 3 years of health care, insurance, pharmacy or medical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes area-specific work per standard processes and policies.
• Acts as expert with equipment and technology in the area.
• Solves technical issues in the specialized area as they arise.
• Ensures documents and records are accurate and timely.
• Supports communication with patients and care team.
• Identifies quality improvements to ensure safe, effective, efficient care.
• Contributes to operational changes and site/system standardization.
• Participates in site/system teams, committees, and councils as applicable.
• Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Keeps current with field changes and collaborates with leadership.
• Maintains knowledge and skills; contributes to education of others.
• Contributes to pharmacy department initiatives; takes tasks when workload dictates.
