SCHEDULE:

This role is on-site at our Brockton, MA location, Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts. The weekly schedule may follow one of the following shifts, but not limited to:

  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Additionally, Saturday shifts (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM) are required every other weekend.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a pivotal team member, you will have the opportunity to engage in tasks such as preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals, including simple compound preparations. You will assist with inventory control and compliance audits, ensuring our pharmacy operates smoothly. Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining important pharmacy records are key responsibilities, working directly with our Manager and Pharmacist to deliver top-notch, patient-focused specialty pharmacy services. This position will be located on-site at our client partner, Signature Healthcare, founded as Brockton Hospital in 1896, a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system providing a wide range of services to patients of all ages throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. They comprise the award-winning Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, Signature Medical Group (SMG), a multi-specialty physician group of more than 150 physicians practicing in 15 ambulatory locations, and the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. At Signature Healthcare, they are transforming healthcare delivery by providing integrated care, bringing together hospitals, healthcare providers, and community medical offices to create a seamless patient experience. This approach improves quality of care, reduces costs, and makes it easier for patients to access the care they need.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Providing the highest level of customer service, whether answering calls or greeting patients in person.
  • Assisting with medication preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Preparing products for use, including packaging, repacking, compounding, barcoding, or other necessary processes.
  • Ensuring medication preparation complies with laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and policies, including participating in double-check systems.
  • Delivering products to patient care areas while maintaining their integrity, security, and confidentiality.
  • Maintaining proficiency with technology such as automated dispensing machines, robotics, barcoding systems, and computer applications.
  • Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Staying updated on departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with inventory control, including receiving, stocking, and replenishment of stock.
  • Checking products for expiry dates and suitability for use.
  • Monitoring and replenishing medication and supply stock, communicating needs to pharmacists and purchasers.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Participating in performance or quality improvement initiatives.
EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required; higher education preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the state Board of Pharmacy where Clearway Health operates, prior to or upon employment.
  • Active National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy-related experience required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Effective interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, colleagues, and others.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow complex instructions accurately.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and basic math skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications.
Special Working Conditions:
  • May require working on recognized holidays with eligibility for holiday pay.
