Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician PRN position in the Lancaster area. Under supervision, the technician handles computer order entry, medication filling, IV admixtures, Pyxis station work, floor stock, and procurement activities as assigned.

Education requires a high school graduate or GED; graduating from a Pharmacy Technician program or currently pursuing is acceptable. SC registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from Pharmacy Technician Program or currently pursuing.
• Current registration as Pharmacy Technician in South Carolina

Responsibilities

• Enter computer orders and fill medication orders.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures and fill Pyxis med stations.
• Manage floor stock and drug procurement activities.
• Perform medication rounds and assist with ordering as needed.

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or staff pharmacists, the pharmacy technician is responsible for general distribution activities, including but not limited to, computer order entry, medication order fill, preparation of intravenous admixtures, floor stock and Pyxis med station medication filling, medication rounds and drug ordering and procurement activities, or other duties as assigned

This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 1 full shift bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Additional Job Description

Education: High School Graduate or GED required, Graduate from Pharmacy Technician Program or currently pursuing.

Licenses/Certificates: Current registration as Pharmacy Technician in South Carolina
