Job summary

Pen Bay Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Retail Pharmacy to join our team. In a training capacity, you will work with a trainer/mentor while performing duties in the pharmacy setting.

You will assist pharmacists, technicians, and the care team with storage, distribution, preparation, and handling of medications in collaboration with a technician trainer or pharmacist. Education required includes a high school diploma or equivalent, and current or eligible state license as a Pharmacy

Varied shifts/shedule. The schedule could range from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail Pharmacy role will function in a training capacity, working alongside a trainer/mentor while completing their job responsibilities in their respective pharmacy practice area. The role will assist pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and the care team in the storage, distribution, preparation, and handling of medications within MaineHealth. The Pharmacy Technician will only perform competencies that they have completed in their knowledge-based courses and on the job training and are qualified to perform alongside a technician trainer/mentor or pharmacist.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician.
3. Experience: None required
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficient computer skills

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package.

The pay range for this position is $20.68 to $25.10 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
