Job Description

General Summary
Dispense prescription drugs, assist in medication preparation and charging, under pharmacist supervision. Provide quality patient care and customer service. Process and interpret physician orders, prepare sterile products, and manage inventory and administrative tasks.

  • Role is PRN, 'as needed'. Not set days, not part-time.

Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma required; some college preferred. Pharmacy Technician License required.
Experience: Retail pharmacy, claim reconciliation, or accounting background helpful.
Other: Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills; ability to adhere to pharmacy laws.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Input data into pharmacy systems, create labels, retrieve medications, and dispense under supervision.
  • Ensure excellent customer service.
  • Prepare sterile products using aseptic technique, following safety protocols.
  • Manage inventory, handle inquiries, and process claims and prescriptions accurately.
  • Interact with patients and staff professionally, respecting diversity and confidentiality.

This role involves access to medical records, including patient demographics and insurance info.

Work environment includes manual tasks, walking, lifting, standing, computer work, and handling potentially hazardous substances. Fast-paced, detailed, and requiring continuous learning.
