Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician PRN to support pharmacists with unit dose dispensing, labeling, and inventory management. You will prepare IV mixtures and operate automated systems while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

The role involves mentoring staff, contributing to quality improvement, and performing clerical duties. A Pharmacy Technician License or CPhT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Fills routine orders for unit dose and prepackaged dispenses medications.
• Counts, packages, and labels unit dose for pharmacist inspection.
• Assists pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels.
• Prepares IV mixtures and operates automated systems.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory and performs clerical duties.
• Maintains knowledge of hospital policies and regulations while dispensing.
• Assists with quality improvement, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Orients and mentors staff.
• Follows Standard Precautions with PPE.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Following physicians' orders, assists pharmacists by filling routine orders for unit dose and prepackaged pharmaceutical dispenses medications.
• Counts, packages, and labels unit dose for inspection by pharmacist.
• Assists pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels.
• Prepares I.V. mixtures and operates automated systems.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory and performs clerical duties.
• Maintains strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and performs dispensing duties accordingly.
• Assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Orients and mentors staff.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License, or (CPhT) Certified Pharmacy Technician
