Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Ability to follow directions and analyze problems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Successful passing of the National Pharmacy Technician exam; State Pharmacy Certification.

Responsibilities

• Understand the pharmacy workflow for medication returns and disposal; interpret medical abbreviations and medication orders.
• Label all medication dosage forms and troubleshoot Pyxis equipment; use Carousels, DoseEdge, Simplifi, Pyxis, and prepackaging systems.
• Prepare non-sterile compounding and packaging; draw up oral syringes and compound suspensions; ensure proper labeling and documentation.
• Answer phones and assist with missing medications; manage Pyxis stockouts; handle inventory, storage, and charges efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness; adhere to policies; comply with safety, QA and infection control standards; know regulations for controlled substances.
• Collaborate with team; participate in departmental activities; use Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
