Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program required.
• Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license required.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medication safety, regulatory compliance, and pharmacy operations.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist in preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately.
• Process medication orders and enter prescription information into pharmacy systems.
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and removing expired drugs.
• Maintain stocking and replenishing medication carts across departments while verifying accuracy and expiration dates.
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and medication safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient and medication records per policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide professional customer service to patients and hospital staff.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
