Job summary

Priority Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services by preparing medications, maintaining inventory, processing prescriptions, and supporting patients with professionalism and compassion.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, dependable, customer focused, and committed to patient care.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
Current Louisiana Pharmacy Technician registration or eligibility to obtain registration upon hire.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
Minimum one year of pharmacy experience preferred.
Knowledge of pharmacy procedures, medication inventory management, and prescription processing.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with pharmacy software systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare Prescriptions – Assist in preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Receive and process prescription orders, package and label medications, perform dosage calculations as permitted by law.
Assist with medication storage, stocking, and inventory management.
Documentation of expired or outdated medications in accordance with procedures.
