Job summary

Medix is seeking a Pharmacy Technician in Connecticut to accurately process prescription orders and maintain billing records. You will work closely with pharmacists to ensure safe dispensing, while upholding patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include entering orders, reviewing prescriptions, communicating with prescribers, handling insurance/billing, and maintaining records in the pharmacy system. Prior retail pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Connecticut or hold an active national pharmacy technician certification.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with pharmacy insurance and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process new prescription and medication orders in pharmacy software systems.
• Review prescriptions for completeness and identify missing or unclear information.
• Contact prescribers' offices as needed to obtain clarification or additional information.
• Process and resolve insurance and billing information.
• Enter and maintain prescription, purchase order, stock order, requisition, and disbursement records.
• Assist with medication and supply requisitions under pharmacist guidance.
• Route completed prescription entries to the pharmacist for final verification.
• Document interventions, updates, and relevant notes within the pharmacy system.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Support pharmacists with additional pharmacy operations as needed.
