Job summary

Medix™ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will accurately process and enter prescription orders into the pharmacy system to support safe and timely dispensing and accurate billing.

You will work closely with pharmacists and prescribers, ensure patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and maintain records, with attention to detail in a fast-paced retail setting.

This role emphasizes data entry accuracy, insurance communication, and collaboration across pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Connecticut or hold an active national pharmacy technician certification.
• Previous retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with pharmacy insurance and billing processes.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process new prescription and medication orders in pharmacy software systems.
• Review prescriptions for completeness and identify missing or unclear information.
• Contact prescribers' offices as needed to obtain clarification or additional information.
• Process and resolve insurance and billing information.
• Enter and maintain prescription, purchase order, stock order, requisition, and disbursement records.
• Assist with medication and supply requisitions under pharmacist guidance.
• Route completed prescription entries to the pharmacist for final verification.
• Document interventions, updates, and relevant notes within the pharmacy system.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Support pharmacists with additional pharmacy operations as needed.
