Job summary

Live-Oak-Pharmacy in Plano, TX, is hiring an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join a growing independent pharmacy. You will enter prescriptions in PioneerRx, adjudicate third-party claims, and assist patients with refills, insurance questions, and status updates.

Responsibilities include inventory management, labeling, and preparing prescriptions for pharmacist verification, with HIPAA compliance and a support-driven workflow under the pharmacist's supervision.

Qualifications

• Active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Proficiency in PioneerRx (required).
• Hands-on experience with prescription data entry and third-party claim rejections.
• Strong customer service and phone skills.
• Open availability: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sat 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Enter new and refill prescriptions accurately in PioneerRx.
• Adjudicate claims and work third-party rejections; DUR, refill-too-soon, prior authorization, NDC and quantity issues, and plan limitations.
• Follow up with prescriber offices on authorizations, clarifications, and PA paperwork.
• Assist patients at the counter and on the phone with refills, status updates, and insurance questions.
• Fill, label, and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and returns.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Support daily workflow under the supervision of the pharmacist.
