Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

As a Walgreens Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you'll interact directly with customers and build strong patient relationships. We offer an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP & the Department of Labor. This apprenticeship helps you become a Pharmacy Technician Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), equipping you with a portable, nationally recognized credential to advance your career.

Whether you're new or experienced, Walgreens will train you to serve and care for our patients and customers. Our program includes courses, activities, and resources to prepare you for certification and a career in pharmacy.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the pharmacist under supervision in pharmacy practice, in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations.
• Providing excellent customer service and developing strong customer relationships.

Additional duties:

• Supporting pharmacy operations, including prescription filling, inventory management, and clerical tasks.
• Assisting in clinical services and building relationships with healthcare providers.
• Maintaining a clean, organized pharmacy environment and adhering to policies.

Training & Personal Development:

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification, with opportunities for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: six months of retail experience, prior Walgreens experience, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
