Responsibilities include:
  1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in pharmacy practice, and perform other pharmacy duties per company policies.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
  3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Perform duties such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and managing workflow.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies on dispensing and quality improvement.
  • Handle sales registration, cash handling, and assist customers in locating products.
  • Process third-party claims, support inventory management, and maintain pharmacy area cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
  • Support department maintenance and uphold company policies and respectful relationships.
  • Complete special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our program or state registration; certification may be a condition for promotion.
  • Attend training, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
