Responsibilities
  1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and perform other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
  3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver excellent service, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and supporting workflow.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing activities.
  • Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
  • Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
  • Assist in administering clinical services and supporting healthcare clinics and providers.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy environment.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
  • Participate in exterior and interior maintenance activities.
  • Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification, with promotion contingent upon certification.
  • Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
