Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, and assisting in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
  • Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, coaching other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in system operation.
  • Delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Greeting customers and patients, offering assistance, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Sharing customer service best practices, including interpersonal skills and Walgreens service traits.
  • Building strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Supporting pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, including entering data, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and assisting with workflow management.
  • Reporting prescription errors immediately and adhering to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
  • Handling sales transactions, assisting with OTC product location, and managing telephone inquiries.
  • Processing third-party claims and supporting inventory management activities.
  • Supporting clinical services and maintaining good relationships with the healthcare community.
  • Ensuring the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly, and maintaining respectful coworker relationships.
  • Completing special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintaining PTCB certification through our training program and/or state requirements; earning certification as a condition for promotion.
  • Attending training sessions and acquiring continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
