Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties according to company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in managing the pharmacy cash registers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits, to deliver a memorable customer experience.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow scheduling.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, cash handling, and assist customers in locating products.
• Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Assist in administering clinical services and coordinating with healthcare providers as needed.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
