Responsibilities
  1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in operating the pharmacy cash registers.
  3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
  • Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
  • Register sales, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
  • Handle non-urgent telephone calls, process third-party claims, and support inventory management activities.
  • Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
  • Maintain good relationships with the medical community and support departmental maintenance and organization.
  • Complete special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
  • Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
