Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform tasks such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support scheduling and workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Follow policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing.
• Handle sales transactions, collect cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Process third-party prescription claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination of healthcare services.
• Develop relationships with the medical community through outreach.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
