Job summary

Qualifications

• Active Texas Pharmacy Technician registration is required.
• PTCB or NHA certification is required.
• Prior inpatient, correctional, or high-volume pharmacy experience preferred.
• PRN availability with flexibility for day, evening, or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Fill, package, and prepare inmate medications.
• Process requested orders through the EMR system.
• Handle controlled substances per regulations.
• Inventory management and unit restocking.
• Assist with medication pass preparation.
• Troubleshoot medication issues.
• Maintain compliance with security and pharmacy standards.
• Answer telephones quickly and courteously.
• Participate in orientation and training programs for staff.
• Keep the pharmacy clean and orderly.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN- Per Diem (PRN) - JPS Correctional Health Pharmacy

We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and customer-focused Per Diem (PRN) Pharmacy Technician to work per diem (PRN) shifts as needed in the JPS Correctional Pharmacy in Fort Worth, TX. T he ideal certified pharmacy technician would be available to work 8-12 hour shifts in both the daytime and overnight. Estimated would be approximately 3 shifts per week but that can change based on staffing needs. Prior pharmacy experience is required, along with flexibility to work as needed in a fast-paced environment. The pharmacy is managed by VytlOne.

Responsibilities

The PRN Pharmacy Technician will provide as-needed support within the correctional health pharmacy, including:

• Filling, packaging, and preparing inmate medications
• Processing requested orders through EMR system
• Controlled substances handling per regulations
• Inventory management and unit restocking
• Assisting with medication pass preparation
• Troubleshooting medication issues
• Maintaining compliance with all security and pharmacy standards
• Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
• Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Texas Board of Pharmacy
• Must be PTCB or NHA certified
• Prior inpatient, correctional, or high-volume pharmacy experience preferred
• Must pass background check for correctional health facility

Scheduling Expectations

• PRN, as-needed coverage for call outs and or preplanned PTO
• May include weekends, evenings or overnight (7pm-7am) based on operational need
• No guaranteed minimum hours
