Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Wichita is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations in Wichita, KS. The position is per diem/prn with a $21.00 per hour compensation, working under a licensed pharmacist and without direct patient care.

The role involves handling drug orders, preparing medications, assisting with billing, and maintaining controlled substances records. Preference for Pharmacy Technician Certification; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by the State.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and manage daily operations per established policies.
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist; may work independently and do not provide direct patient care.
  • Pickup drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision.
  • Deliver the appropriate quantities of medications to correct patient areas.
  • Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
  • Maintain drugs per Drug Formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing and paperwork.
  • Monitor doses according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
  • Maintain all forms and reports for control of narcotics and other controlled substances.

Responsibilities
  • You will complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services, including being responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy within the established policies and guidelines.
  • You will work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, and you are able to work independently. You will not provide direct care to patients.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
