Position Summary

This position provides an opportunity for a current Pharmacy Technician with limited availability to continue to play a meaningful role in the pharmacy. A Pharmacy Technician Per Diem takes important steps to ensure that they meet medication needs and regulatory compliance standards for our patients, demonstrate ethical conduct and always maintain patient confidentiality. Success for incumbents in this role includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to promptly, safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions all while providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations.

Pharmacy Technician Per Diem are required to satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to their State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Living our purpose of “Bringing our Heart to Every Moment of Your Health” by engaging with customers, in-person and over the phone, to help manage and improve patient health.
  2. Ensuring customer satisfaction and educating customers about our service and product offerings.
  3. Demonstrating compassion and care by proactively identifying and resolving potential problems.
  4. Effectively following workflow procedures with an in-depth understanding of each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  5. Following basic inventory management policies and procedures.
  6. Understanding and following applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  7. Delivering additional patient health care services where allowable by law.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Basic customer service and patient care activities, demonstrating our purpose in all interactions.
  2. Basic Rx fulfillment activities with proficiency at all appropriate workstations.
  3. Basic Rx inventory management activities, following best practices.
  4. Keeping current on any changes in policies, procedures, and programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacy Technician with limited availability.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required.
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
  • Reliable attendance, when scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a CVS pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.
  • Ability to access Employee Self Service App to view available shifts.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $16.00 - $24.00.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
