Job summary

Albertsons Companies Inc. in Homer, Alaska is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in processing prescriptions, data entry, and medication preparation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and federal/state laws.

You'll engage with patients, answer questions, restock supplies, maintain records, and keep the workspace clean in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy, organization, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum age per location (16 or 18+ as required).
• Current Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure required where applicable.
• Ability to operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems.
• Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy procedures, prescription processing, and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing prescriptions, entering data, and preparing medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Engage with customers, answer questions, process transactions, or direct clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain organization by restocking supplies, managing records, and keeping the workspace clean while complying with regulations.
• Handle prescription workflows and daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow federal and state pharmacy laws.
