Job summary

Kroger is seeking a pharmacy clerk to deliver outstanding customer service and health/wellness support at our Roanoke location. You will assist in reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing while upholding HIPAA and corporate safety standards.

This role involves inventory, cashier duties, and collaboration with pharmacists to ensure accurate service and patient care. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, be 18+, and comfortable handling confidential

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years or older to perform the role.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines and programs.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Understand and follow guidelines on computerized inventory management and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
• Maintain clean, organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
• Count, measure and prepare specified product following best practices.
• Complete billing procedures to ensure value to customer and company.
• Answer phones, triage calls, and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
• Adhere to guidelines on vendor coupons, cash shortages, and shrink prevention.
• Operate cash register and process electronic and cash transactions securely.
• Provide stellar customer experience while data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing steps are completed.
• Assist pharmacist in responsibilities excluding professional judgments.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company policies regarding privacy.
• Support company health and wellness initiatives.
• Receive and stock deliveries, including Central Fill.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
