Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in verification, packaging, dispensing, and billing under supervision. You will ensure accurate documentation of services and supplies, and participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of patient care.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician, licensure as a Certified Pharmacy Tech in the relevant state, and national certification

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
• Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy based on state worked.
• National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
• Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
• Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities . Understands the limitations to performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice.
• Maintains competency to work in the IV room, including performing hazardous compounding. Provides some functional supervision of technicians.
• Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service. Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
• Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students.
• Mentors technicians in learning new tasks.
