Job summary

ShopRite of Jacksonville in Phoenix, MD is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support the Pharmacist in dispensing medications and assisting customers with care. The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and compliance with drug laws and company policies.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, inputting patient data, counting and labeling prescriptions, stocking the pharmacy, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment while protecting confidential health information.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain proper state licensing or certifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform mathematical functions including decimals and fractions.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to fill prescriptions with dexterity.
• Ability to identify colors, shapes, and sizes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and tolerate dust/chemicals.
• Ability to interact with customers and work cooperatively.
• Ability to use computer hardware/software.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Accurately collect payment and provide change.
• Input patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist Pharmacist in processing prescriptions, counting, labeling.
• Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed.
• Help customers locate over-the-counter items.
• Be knowledgeable about department products.
• Maintain security of Pharmacy Department.
• Interact with physicians and reference material to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Sanitize surfaces and equipment per standards.
• Comply with drug laws and regulatory requirements.
• Protect patient health information and confidentiality.
• Lift/move merchandise as needed and stand for long hours.
• Check prices and location of items; support promotions.
• Follow shrink guidelines and safety protocols.
