Job summary

CommUnityCare Health Centers seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist with dispensing, billing, and quality control. The role involves handling inventory, 340B program tasks, and ensuring timely medication delivery within a health system.

You will work with EMR and pharmacy systems, coordinate with internal teams, and provide multilingual patient support to improve access to medicines. Training, licensure maintenance, and compliance are required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical terms and nomenclature.
Familiarity with common healthcare tools and systems (PCs, spreadsheets, word processing, patient records).
3 years experience in a pharmacy environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in dispensing and ordering medications, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
Prepare prescriptions for delivery and track orders using pharmacy systems and EMR.
Contact patients to confirm delivery and return medications to stock per procedures.
Enter patient and prescription data and verify pharmacy benefit eligibility and programs.
Coordinate with benefits and patient assistance teams to secure coverage and access.
Provide excellent customer service in person and electronically with clear communication.
Register handling: open/close registers and maintain transaction records.
Identify patient language needs and arrange translators for effective communication.
Follow regulatory standards and SOPs; maintain credentials and participate in mandatory training.
