Job summary

AltaMed is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist PACE Clinical Pharmacists in delivering safe medication therapy to participants. You will support medication management activities, coordinate patient appointments, reconciliations, and follow-up, while handling clerical tasks to boost efficiency.

Requirements include a CA Pharmacy Technician certification, high school diploma, and at least 1 year of experience; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, with a valid BLS or higher.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification through the California State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with senior populations, preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist PACE Clinical Pharmacists at assigned locations to deliver safe medication therapy.
• Direct patient contact to facilitate clinical pharmacy appointments and reconciliations.
• Perform pill box refills, patient follow-up, and related clerical duties.

Job Overview

The pharmacy Technician will assist PACE Clinical Pharmacists at assigned PACE locations to support the delivery of safe, effective medication therapy to PACE program participants. The Pharmacy Technician will directly support the Medication Management Therapy interactions that the PACE Clinical Pharmacists carry out. The Pharmacy Technician will have direct patient contact to facilitate clinical pharmacy appointments, medication reconciliations, pill box refills, patient follow-up, and clerical duties to support the efficiency of the PACE clinical pharmacists.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification through the California State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with senior populations, preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$25.00 - $29.32 hourly
