PharMerica in Washington, NC is hiring Pharmacy Order Entry Technicians for a non-retail setting serving long-term care and senior living clients. North Carolina license is required within 30 days of hire. Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm, with weekend coverage.

Position type: full-time at 1811 Cherry Run Rd., Washington, NC 27889. The role involves inputting orders, calculating dosages, addressing claims and denials, and supporting pharmacists with dispensing under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy-related experience in a healthcare setting.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented; team player; customer service and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Triage, interpret and input orders into computerized medication order system with accuracy and productivity.
• Perform drug calculations including basic math (e.g., milligrams).
• Resolve denial issues identified through adjudication and follow-up in POS.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes.
• Produce reports and inform management of unpaid/ pending claims.
• Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
• Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under supervision of a Pharmacist.
• Perform other tasks as directed by management.

Responsibilities

• Performs drug calculations including basic mathematical calculations (e.g., converting milligrams)
• May resolve issues of denials identified through adjudication, and follow-up claims in Point of Sale (POS)
• Maintains current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes
• May produce reports and keep management informed of unpaid claims and claims pending follow-up
• Provides excellent customer service to external and internal customers in accordance with company values
• May assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist
• Performs other tasks as assigned, which can include assisting in any area of the pharmacy as directed by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy related experience
• Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system; ability to operate a computer
• Licenses/Certifications: As required by state regulations and business needs
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, customer service, oral communication
