Job summary

Wood County Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Technician (Full Time) to support safe, accurate pharmacy services under pharmacist supervision. The onsite role focuses on medication preparation, dispensing, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.

Education: HS diploma; Licenses include PTCB or state license; Two years of pharmacy technician experience preferred. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• License: One of the following: PTCB, Licensed Pharmacy Technician or Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, or Licensed Pharmacy Technician Trainee must become Licensed Registered/Certified within 18 months of hire date.
• Experience: None
• Certification: None

Responsibilities

• Applies appropriate pharmacy knowledge and skills to safely support patients of all ages under pharmacist supervision.
• Prepares and processes medications by assisting with order entry, compounding, packaging, labeling, pre-packing, and dispensing activities.
• Maintains accurate inventory control by receiving, checking, storing, ordering, and tracking drugs and supplies, with proper documentation for dangerous drugs.
• Utilizes pharmaceutical terminology, mathematics, weights and measures, symbols, and pharmacy equipment to perform technical pharmacy functions with precision.
• Transports and distributes medications and supplies to patient care areas by delivering orders, refilling automated dispensing machines, restocking carts, and retrieving returns.
