Job summary

Intermountain Health in Murray, Utah seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team. The role covers central, decentral, sterile compounding, and operating room functions with shift times that vary and start around 6:30–7:30am or 2:30pm.

The position supports pharmacy services across locations including ambulatory and specialty settings. Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists, handling medication orders, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.
• Any lapse or failure to meet these requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to termination, at the hiring manager's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all phases of pharmacy services under supervision and required by state laws.
• Answers phones and provides excellent customer service.
• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
• Prepares medication orders for dispensing and compounds medications in accordance with state law and policies.
• Maintains controlled substance inventories and 340B/Charging management as required.
• Packages and labels medications accurately and maintains pharmacy cleanliness and orderliness.
• Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
