Job summary

Mercy Hospital St Louis - Lobby Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. The role reports to the supervising pharmacist and adheres to all regulations for patient safety.

Positions Tech I/II/III offer full-time schedules: 40 hours weekly, with shifts 2:00pm-10:30pm or 3:30pm-12:00am. Missouri licensure or eligibility is required, plus fingerprinting for FBI background checks.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam (Tech I/II/III).
• Licensure: Active Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration as Pharmacy Technician or willing to apply by first day.
• Experience: 1 year pharmacy experience preferred for Tech II and 3 years for Tech III.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.

The Pharmacy Technician I follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Schedule/Hours

• Full time (40 hrs)
• 2:00pm - 10:30pm or 3:30pm - 12:00am

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
