Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of board-approved Pharmacy Technician training program or National Certification required.
• National Certification test (PTCB or NHA) required.
• Ohio: State Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician Registration required.
• Kentucky: State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
• Pharmacy technician training or prior technician work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Profiles physician orders in computer system for pharmacist review.
• Provides prompt, efficient, and courteous service; answers telephone inquiries and directs inquiries as needed.
• Delivers medications to Meds to Beds patients (ER).
• Performs medication reconciliation by interviewing patients and/or family members.
• Checks incoming orders against purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
• Educates patients on re-ordering prescriptions.
