Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare unit-dose medications and deliver medications.
• Read prescriptions and prepare meds for dispensing, including pediatric/geriatric forms.
• Understand standard pharmacy terms, abbreviations, and symbols.
• Communicate with patients or caregivers about medication delivery.
• Accurately prepare and deliver controlled substances and maintain records.
• Take inventory and replace deteriorated medications.
• Prepare non-parenteral meds for pediatric patients.
• Label parenteral and prescription products correctly.
• Perform dosage calculations for medications.
• Follow departmental standards for speed and accuracy.
• Prepare and label prepackaged medications and maintain records.
• Maintain inventory in assigned areas.
• Answer phones and route calls appropriately.
• Keep pharmacy areas clean and orderly.
• Abide by restrictions that only pharmacists may perform per regulations.
