Job summary

Henry Ford Health Jackson Hospital in Jackson, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Long Term Care to support skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Jackson and Metro Detroit.

Eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will assist in dispensing and processing prescriptions, enter data into the computer, stock inventory, and handle payments. Michigan Tech license and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and prepackages medication for subsequent administration to patients under the supervision of pharmacists.
• Enters prescription information and processes prescriptions in the computer.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
• Obtains all personal and insurance information from new customers and enters it into the computer.
• Takes prescription refill orders over the phone from customers.
• Collects monies owed for prescription retail sales or OTC sales.
• Maintains appropriate records of medication dispensed.
• Helps in the reprocessing of rejected prescriptions.
