Position Summary

Pharmacy Technician – Mail Order Pharmacy (Packing/Shipping Technician) in Wilkes‑Barre, PA. Responsible for packing and shipping prescription orders in a closed‑door pharmacy setting, ensuring timely delivery to patients while maintaining accuracy and compliance with standard operating procedures. Must work under the direct supervision of Lead Technicians and Pharmacy Supervisors, and may be cross‑trained in automated packing machines, automated and manual drug dispensing, and loading of automated dispensing machines.

Licensing Requirement

The Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy REQUIRES licensure for all pharmacy technicians, including CVS Mail Operations Warehouse positions.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Pack and ship prescription orders in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Operate automated packing machines and perform manual drug dispensing as required.
• Load and validate automated dispensing machines, prepare packaging, and deliver prescription drug orders.

Physical Demands

• Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. to move objects.
• Close visual acuity needed for activities such as viewing a computer screen and reading small parts.
• Capability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods without distraction.
• Repetitive hand and finger movements, including picking, pinching, and typing.
• Movement extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction, bending forward at the waist, stooping, and requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
• Clear verbal communication for conveying detailed instructions accurately.

Education

Pay Range

$17.00 – $28.46 per hour. Pay range varies based on skill, experience, education, geography, and other factors.
