Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a current Pharmacy Technician license from the State of California
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
• Knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to the pharmacy department
• Aseptic technique used in the preparation of IV admixture products (preferred)
• Knowledge of drug names and therapeutic uses (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Fills individual drug orders from the pharmacy medication profile under pharmacist supervision.
• Prepares intravenous additive solutions and bulk IV admixtures.
• Conducts monthly inspections of nursing units, removes outdated drugs, and documents findings.
• Accurately fill medication labels for IV and oral doses as orders are processed.
• Record purchases, check floor stock, replenish supplies, and manage deliveries and stock locations.
• Make hourly rounds to deliver medications to patient care areas and ensure timely processing of orders.
