Job summary

Onco360 Oncology Pharmacy in Waltham, MA is seeking a dedicated Intake/Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician to join our specialty team. This Full-Time role involves creating patient profiles, processing orders, and ensuring accurate data entry from electronic prescriptions and faxes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensed/registered Pharmacy Technician as per state law.
• Experience in pharmacy setting preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and sig codes helpful.

Responsibilities

• Creates patient profiles and processes orders from electronic prescriptions and faxes.
• Generates and types prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
• Follows up on outbound prescription transfers and clarifies patient demographics.

Join our team at Onco360 as Intak e/Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician for our Specialty Pharmacy located in Waltham, MA .

Are you looking for a change working in a great pharmacy environment? Looking for skilled candidates with comfort working in a high volume pharmacy setting.

Shift times

between 8am and 8pm.

Starting salary

from $24.00 an hour and up

Sign-On Bonus

$5,000 for employees starting before September 30th, 2026.

Position

This will be a Full-Time position, and you may transition to work remote after onsite training is complete.

Intake Pharmacy Technicians at Onco360

• Creates patient profiles and processes orders in a timely manner from electronic prescription and fax queues
• Requests refill prescriptions as appropriate
• Manages incoming documents from the fax server

Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technicians at Onco360

• Generates and types prescriptions from orders for pharmacist verification
• Follows up on outbound prescription transfers, and
• Clarifies patient demographic and clinical information needed to process prescriptions

Intake / Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician Qualifications And Responsibilities

• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible
• Good organizational skills and detail oriented
• Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology
• Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information
• Licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
• Basic math and analytical skills
• Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED, licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law, Previous Experience in Pharmacy

Experience

• Required: Pharmacy Technician: 1+ years
• Desired: Pharmacy Technician: 3+ years

Skills/Knowledge

• Required: Pharmacy or healthcare-related knowledge, knowledge of pharmacy terminology including sig codes, and Roman numerals, brand/generic names of medication, basic math and analytical skills, Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills.
• Desired: Specialty pharmacy experience

License or certification

• Required:
• Pharmacy Technician State License/Registration (per State Board of Pharmacy)
• Certain States also require National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT via PTCB/NHA)
