Job summary

Onco360 is hiring an Intake/Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician for our Buffalo, NY location. The role supports creating patient profiles, processing orders from electronic prescriptions and faxes, and handling refill requests in a high-volume oncology pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities include generating prescriptions for pharmacist verification, following up on outbound transfers, and clarifying patient demographic and clinical information to ensure accurate processing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensed/registered Pharmacy Technician as required by state law.
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Create patient profiles and process orders from electronic prescriptions and faxes.
• Request refill prescriptions as appropriate and manage incoming fax documents.
• Generate and type prescriptions from orders for pharmacist verification; transfer prescriptions as needed.

Join our team at Onco360 as Intake e/Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician for our Specialty Pharmacy located in Buffalo, NY. Are you looking for a change working in a great pharmacy environment? Looking for skilled candidates with comfort working in a high volume pharmacy setting.

Shift times between 8am and 8pm.

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 for employees starting before October 31, 2026.

Starting salary from $23.00 an hour and up

This will be a Full-Time position and is ONSITE at the Buffalo pharmacy.

Intake Pharmacy Technicians at Onco360:

• Creates patient profiles and processes orders in a timely manner from electronic prescription and fax queues
• Requests refill prescriptions as appropriate
• Manages incoming documents from the fax server

Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technicians at Onco360:

• Generates and types prescriptions from orders for pharmacist verification
• Follows up on outbound prescription transfers, and
• Clarifies patient demographic and clinical information needed to process prescriptions

Intake / Prescription Setup Pharmacy Technician Qualifications and Responsibilities:

• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible
• Good organizational skills and detail oriented
• Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology
• Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information
• Licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
• Basic math and analytical skills

Education:

• Required:High School Diploma or GED, licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law, Previous Experience in Pharmacy

Experience:

• Required: Pharmacy Technician: 1+ years
• Desired: Pharmacy Technician: 3+ years

Skills/Knowledge:

• Required: Pharmacy or healthcare-related knowledge, knowledge of pharmacy terminology including sig codes, and Roman numerals, brand/generic names of medication, basic math and analytical skills, Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills.
• Desired:Specialty pharmacy experience

License or certification:

Required:

• Pharmacy Technician State License/Registration (per State Board of Pharmacy)
• Certain States also require National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT via PTCB/NHA)
• Required:Independent worker, good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to work independently, work efficiently to meet deadlines and be flexible, detail-oriented, great time-management skills
