Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward licensed technician certification through a certified national program required.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers.
• Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise.
• Accept new prescription orders and phone refills.
• Contact doctors to request refills as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drugs for dispensing.
• Prepare labels and prescriptions for mailing.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with billing.
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report errors.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices.
• Perform cash transactions accurately.
• Administer vaccines where permitted by law.
