Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minnesota is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support patient intake, claims processing, and refill coordination. This role includes data entry, insurance verification, and processing Medicare and transplant claims in coordination with pharmacists.

Responsibilities include completing intake for mail order, specialty, transplant and limited distribution patients, verifying insurance, coordinating delivery, and providing responsive customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year healthcare experience including six months as a pharmacy technician.
• Pharmacy Technician MN license is required.
• Preferred: Pharmacy Tech program graduate and call center experience.

• Receive prescriptions/orders from patients under pharmacist supervision and process accurately in the required systems.

• Assist with data collection, reporting, and maintenance of patient education materials.

Job description

Job Overview

This position includes patient tracking, processing of patient claims, customer service, issue resolution and/or escalation. When in this position you will be responsible for doing Data Entry, Requesting, and following up on refill request, processing Medicare and transplant claims and working on high level adjudicated claims.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake process for mail order, specialty, transplant, and limited distribution pharmacy patients including new patient enrollment, insurance verification, and medication refill and delivery schedule.


• Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from patients, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements.


• Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested.


• Other responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to back up phone coverage, data collection, reporting, process improvement and maintenance of patient education materials.
