Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is hiring a Pharmacy Technician III to perform complex duties within the IDS pharmacy. You will work under a pharmacist to prepare IV admixtures, process prescriptions, maintain the EMR, and ensure drug accountability.

This full-time position supports patient care across multiple units on the South Lake Union campus. Candidate must have WA state tech certification, 2 years of experience, and strong accuracy with data entry, calculations, and Pyxis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Washington state pharmacy technician certification.
• 2 years pharmacy technician experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite.
• Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner.
• Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.
• Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems accurately and efficiently.
• Accurate and aseptic IV admixture.
• Familiar with sponsor-given names, generic names of drugs and indications.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex duties within the pharmacy department.
• Interpret and summarize information and datasets.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders inside and outside the pharmacy.
• Develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Work independently and in teams to complete tasks.
• Document information clearly and concisely.
• Generate and present reports to Pharmacy Operations Manager or Director of Pharmacy.
• Prepare, package and label medications accurately and efficiently.
• Handle charging and billing functions.
• Operate CII safe and follow controlled substances procedures.
• Fill and document Pyxis activities.
• Monitor stock for expiration dates and conduct counts.
• Manage inventory for investigational products.
• Deliver patient-specific medications to clinics.
• Conduct internal audits of dispensing records and resolve discrepancies.
• Identify problems and suggest improvements.
• Support quality initiatives and education for staff.
