Centerstone of Florida is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in a hospital environment. The role emphasizes accurate prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory control, and adherence to safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a pharmacy technician background, hospital experience, and hold or be willing to obtain National Certification and an active state license.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician background and hospital experience.
• Nationally Certified and active state license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medications, labeling, inventory, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all aspects of the fulfillment process, including answering calls, transcribing orders, entering prescriptions, counting and labeling prescriptions, and managing inventory.
• Procures and distributes medication orders per physician or pharmacist requests per policies and protocols.
• Fills physician orders, medication kits, carts, and stock requisitions accurately.
• Replenishes medications in emergency containers and floor stock areas.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas per schedule.
• Assists in order of drugs and supplies per GPO bids and practices.
• Manages ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies.
• Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date.
• Documents medication storage area inspections monthly and replaces outdated drugs.
• Restocks medications within required time frames.
• Repackages bulk medications into unit-dose packages safely.
• Picks up orders for return from patient care areas during rounds.
• Enters medication orders into the pharmacy computer system accurately.
• Supports patient and department charges accuracy and timeliness.
• Generates reports, pick-lists, and labels as required.
• Answers phone calls and directs calls to the appropriate staff.
• Assists with timely stat deliveries and window requests to patient care areas.
• Maintains logs, records, and documentation; files appropriately.
• Demonstrates competence with automated dispensing equipment and adheres to procedures.
• Loads medications from restock lists into automated distribution systems.
• Reconciles automated distribution equipment returns and inventories.
• Ensures look-alike/sound-alike medications are segregated in equipment.
• Maintains inventory parity and rotates stock; removes expired items from equipment.
• Loads new inventory and removes deleted items from equipment.
• Monitors stock-outs and resolves them promptly.
• Inspects medications monthly in automated systems and reconciles inventories.
• Maintains password security protocols and participates in training.
