Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing activities under supervision. You will collect and verify prescription data, stock supplies, and may prepare labels and routine prepacked orders.

Requirements include SCBOP registration, PTCB certification, and a high school diploma. ASHP-recognized training candidates are welcome. 40 hours weekly; hourly pay; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current SCBOP registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required and must be maintained.
  • National certification by the PTCB is required and must be maintained.
  • ASHP-accredited or recognized pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist a registered pharmacist with dispensing medications and related tasks.
  • Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information.
  • Receive and stock incoming supplies; prepare labels and routine prepacked orders.
  • Perform clerical duties as needed within the department.

Job Description

Additional Job Description

Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 2 years. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.

  • Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.
  • New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.
  • New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.
