Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician II at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. You will assist pharmacists, enter prescriptions, file records, and support daily operations across shifts.

  • Prepares unit dose accurately for refill list and assists in automation.
  • Conducts rounds to nursing units and prepares medications for transportation rounds.
  • Performs pharmacy-related tasks to maintain efficiency and organization.
  • Maintains inventory of RX and OTC items.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $19.62 - $30.41 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Pharmacy Technician II
  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights
  • Full Time (32 hrs/week)
  • Hours: Monday-Saturday; Rotating day/evening shifts (8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm)
A Brief Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in dispensing and filling prescriptions. The Pharmacy Technician duties include, but are not limited to, entering prescriptions in the computer, filing prescriptions, ordering medications and over the counter items, calling third party insurance providers, and aiding the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations. The Pharmacy Technician II is also responsible for checking in orders, putting orders away (OTC, and RX), and completing end of day closing and deposit procedures.

What you will do:
  • Prepares, fills and labels medications for final dispensing authorization by the Pharmacists.
  • Prepares the unit dose accurately according to the refill list, for Pharmacists final authorization and fill the automated medication station in timely manner.
  • Conducts rounds to nursing units according to schedule and prepares medications for transportation rounds.
  • Performs various pharmacy-related tasks to help maintain pharmacy efficiency and organization.
  • Assist in maintenance of pharmacy inventory of supplies and medications, (RX and OTC)
What you will need:
  • High School General Studies Required Or
  • Diploma or Vocational Degree General Studies Required
  • Registered Pharmacy Technicians enrolled in a first professional degree program in pharmacy in a school or college of pharmacy or a department of pharmacy of a university And
  • 1 Year technician trainee experience in a hospital environment preferred.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation License (IDFPR) Required And
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (cPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) Required
