An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to assist clinical pharmacists in ensuring timely and accurate medication distribution. This role is vital in a renowned hospital system recognized for its excellence in healthcare services. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Registration: Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire, and registration must be active and in good standing.
Certification: Employees must obtain national certification through PTCB or ExCPT upon hire. Failure to do so by the deadline may result in termination, unless the employee is accepted into a pharmacy school and plans to enroll in the next academic year, with proof required. In such cases, the employee may remain in the role until obtaining an intern license, which must be provided by the end of the first academic semester or employment will be terminated. For initial certification, a passing result from PTCB is considered active status for 30 days. Renewal of PTCB certification requires attainment of active status within 30 days of expiration, including a 30-day grace period.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent task prioritization, and proficiency in basic math applications.
