Join to apply for the Pharmacy Technician II - Pool role at PRINCETON BAPTIST MEDICAL CENTER.

Position Summary:

Assists with operational and distribution responsibilities related to Pharmacy Technician functions, including Orlando Health software and hardware systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates understanding of safety, emergency, and risk management procedures.
  2. Understands the hospital mission, personnel policies, philosophy, goals, customer service, and objectives of the Pharmacy and Orlando Health.
  3. Familiar with general duties and processes of the Pharmacy department.
  4. Identifies and utilizes resources and departments for customer service and patient care based on need, availability, and responsibility of resources.
  5. Operates equipment required for pharmacy procedures, following instructions, safety regulations, and policies.
  6. Performs basic Pharmacy Technician procedures consistent with scientific principles, policies, and procedures.
  7. Performs drug procurement duties in line with departmental principles and Orlando Health policies.
  8. Assists Pharmacist with medication distribution, including aseptic techniques for admixture (e.g., chemotherapy) and tasks related to automated dispensing cabinets.
  9. Maintains USP 797 standards and regulatory documentation.
  10. Handles safe medication disposal and handling.
  11. Completes special projects as assigned.
  12. Participates in training new pharmacy technicians if needed.
  13. Maintains expertise in specialized practice areas as needed (e.g., medication history acquisition).
  14. Maintains regular and punctual attendance per Orlando Health policies and applicable laws.
  15. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Experience of over one year up to four years as a pharmacy technician.
