What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Interpret and enter data for moderately complex prescriptions while verifying member information
- Educate members on pharmacy-related rules and available assistance programs
- Process prior authorization requests and ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements
- Resolve grievances and appeals related to medication issues
- Maintain accurate record-keeping for prior authorizations and related reports
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Active professional license or certification as required by state law to practice as a Pharmacy Technician
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and proficient use of computers
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with electronic health records
- Basic knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid
- Previous experience in communicating with members over the phone
- Familiarity with pharmacy assistance programs
